Last Minute Preparations for a Private Concert

You cannot help it but feel extremely nervous after seeing friends and relatives arrive one by one to see you play a private musical performance at home. You can help alleviate the feeling of nervousness by following these steps.

First, an hour before the performance, find a secluded room and play your entire piece as you would during your concert. After that, go out and talk to guests. You may also want to stay in a quiet place to meditate. During this time, it is important not to go anywhere near there is music or even touch your instrument so you can relax and calm down.

Next, play your instrument without actually producing any sound. If you are a vocalist, lip-synch the song. If you are playing a trumpet, do not blow in it. This helps you get a comfortable feel of the instrument or role that you will be playing. Finally, a few minutes before the performance, have a drink. A little bit of alcohol can help calm down your nerves. If you do not drink alcohol, try to take deep breaths to relax. Now, you are ready to show your audience how talented you are!
