Why You Should Not Download Free Music Files
With the Internet, it is now possible to download free music. However, there is a downside to this and that is online piracy. Without asking permission from the rightful artist, some sites post music files that everyone can download without cost. Doing this can have terrible consequences.
First, downloading music without permission is simply illegal. If the artist finds out the perpetrator, he can very well file a case against that person, citing a violation of copyright. Even if the song’s owner chooses not to file a case, the perpetrator can still be blocked from accessing the song owner’s site.
Next, it kills the music industry. Naturally, artists want to earn from their hard-earned work but illegal downloading discourages them from releasing albums. After all, why would they release songs when they cannot get money from them due to illegal downloading? Finally, the quality of the sound of unlawfully downloaded files is not at par with those that are bought or downloaded legally. Furthermore, pirated mp3 files can contain malware such as worms, viruses, and spyware, which can wreak havoc to your personal computer.
